What is NDIS Support Coordination or a COS?
COS stands for Coordinator of Supports and our services will assist you to build the skills you need to understand, implement and use your plan. We will work with you to ensure a mix of supports are used to increase your capacity to maintain relationships, manage service delivery tasks, live more independently and be included in your community.
COS services include:
- Supporting and preparing for your plan review
- Implementing your plan so it's utilised in the best way possible
- Ensuring you achieve all your NDIS goals
- Connecting you to appropriate support services
- Working with you to build your capacity to understand and expertly navigate the NDIS
I'm new to the NDIS and I have no idea what I'm doing, can you help?
Absolutely! Having the support from a COS when you're new to the NDIS is a vital tool to ensure that you build your understanding and capacity to navigate the scheme.
We aren't just here to reach out and liaise with services for you, we are here to make you an NDIS pro. Our ultimate goal is that one day you may not need to use our services anymore!
I don't have any Support Coordination funding in my NDIS plan, but I really need a COS. What do I do?
If you have an upcoming plan review and you have no Support Coordination funding, we can help you through that process at no cost to you. We will provide a Support Coordination report and together we can request to have this service implemented in your next plan.
If your review isn't coming up and you feel that you need this service in order to get the most out of your plan, we can apply for a 'light touch review'. We will submit a Support Coordination report and request that additional funds are added to your plan for Support Coordination.
I'm going for my plan review soon and I'd really like some support with this process. Can you help with this?
Absolutely! We understand that reviews can be quite stressful and nerve wracking when you're doing it on your own. Sometimes you just need a helping hand to make everything go a little smoother and to make sure you have your goals and reports prepared.
We will get in touch with your stakeholders, make sure that we receive comprehensive reports prior to the meeting and then ensure they are uploaded into the portal with plenty of time.
We can meet with you prior to your review day so that we can make sure you have a good idea around what your goals are for your new plan period. Then, we can sit with you and support you through the actual review on the day.
